Over the next few days, I will be comparing the two leaders of rugged cellphone cases and describing what the pros & cons are for each manufacturer. Each brand has their own strong points – such as Trident with the wide variety of color variety and customization – while Otterbox has a solid fit & feel with an industry breaking holster clip for their Defender Series cases.
The important thing here to remember is that both manufacturers offer three levels of protection:
- Light Duty – Otterbox: Impact Series & Trident: Aegis Series
- Medium Duty – Otterbox: Commuter Series & Trident: Cyclops/Cyclops II Series
- Heavy Duty – Otterbox: Defender Series & Trident: Kraken/Kraken AMS Series
